Iran Eases Export License Process for Herbal Medicines Through Specialized Partnerships

In a move to boost non-oil exports and support health-based innovation, Iran is streamlining the export license process for herbal medicines. This initiative involves collaboration between the Iran Food and Drug Administration (IFDA), Iran Customs, and specialized pharmaceutical accelerators.

According to Padideh Giah News, the growing global demand for herbal medicines has opened new doors for Iranian manufacturers. By obtaining GMP certification, completing technical documentation, and securing product registration in the target market, producers can more easily acquire an official export license for pharmaceuticals.

Accelerators and pharmaceutical export consulting firms play a key role in helping startups and manufacturers navigate complex regulatory requirements and enter international markets—particularly in Asia, the Persian Gulf, and Europe.

This policy shift is expected to significantly expand Iran’s presence in the global herbal pharmaceutical sector.
